Lose: 34 - 35
The Lady Rams Varsity Basketball Team ended their roller coaster regular season with a 35-34 loss @ Hazel Park on Thursday night and fell to a record of 8 & 12 overall.  The game was a synopsis of how the season played out. The ladies fell behind in a lackluster 1st half by the score of 19-14 only to see that energy change when Coach Mike Kobus inserted Taylor Singleton ( 8 rebounds & 3 blocks) into the 2nd half starting lineup.  Her energy and hustle propelled the ladies into a 27-21 lead entering the 4th.  In the 4th quarter the Rams kept Hazel Park at bay until some untimely missed free throws allowed them to get back into it, but in the end Hazel Park hit a shot with 3 seconds to go to take the lead.  And while the Rams called time out, they could not get a shot off at the buzzer.  Both Nydia Shumate (15 points, 20 rebounds, 6 steals & 3 bolcks) and Evy Bisbikis (14 points & 4 boards) played the entire game for the Lady Rams while point guard Ava Wark rested for  only 45 seconds.  Their effort tonight was an inspiration to all.  Kayla Maciag also chipped in with 10 boards, 3 blocks, 2 steals & 3 points. The ladies open up District play on Wednesday @ Hazel Park at 6:30 against the Hazel Park / Center Line winner.  Good luck ladies and keep working hard.  #wearelamphere

Win: 33 - 30
Twas the week before Christmas and the last game of this year, in came the Marauders to play at good old Lamphere.  The defenses were tough and the Marauders played rough, but the Rams have been tested through this enough.  We had opened up a 5 point halftime lead, but Mott was sitting & hiding in the weeds.  The teams traded baskets into the 3rd while our ladies listened to Coach Mike's very sound words.  Into the 4th the game had started to warm as the Marauders defense started to swarm.  As the Marauders came back and had taken the lead the Marauders energy had started to feed.   They had just come back from 8 points down to take the lead in Madison Heights town.  As the game progressed and came down to the wire both team's defenses were completely on fire.  With just seconds to play the Mauraders had started to sway all because of Mexico's 3 point play.  As the buzzer sounded and the game was done, the Lady Rams had finished and won.  With their win the ladies start 1-0 in the league and are 4 & 2 I hear while the Rams welcome Roseville on January 8th at 7:00 next year.  Lauren Mexico led the Rams with 14 points and 10 boards while Nydia Shumate and Jasmine Ellis chipped in with 5 points each and 6 boards and 5 boards respectively. Great game ladies & Merry Christmas and a safe & Happy New Year to ALL!!!!
