Girls Junior Varsity Basketball vs. Stevenson HS

Lose: 14 - 46
The Lady Rams JV Basketball team ended their season on a sour note with a 46-14 beat down by the home team from Sterling Heights Stevenson and finished with a record of 10 & 4.  The ladies were led by Tabia Promee & Lainey Abbott with 4 points apiece.  Jaz Singleton chipped in with 9 rebounds and 5 steals while Keneisha Thomas added 4 boards and 4 blocks & point guard Melissa Avi also had 4 blocks.  If you only look at the final score you would think that the Rams were never in the game, but the exact opposite is true.  The leadership and communication by Jaz Singleton spread throughout the team with Taylor Stokes, Anna Edwards, Lainey Abbott & Melissa Avi constantly communicating and pushing their teammates to excel, the ladies played with a passion to finish the season strong.  Even with the loss tonight the future of the Lady Rams looks bright!  Keep working hard ladies!! #wearelamphere!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Lady Rams JV basketball team fell at home on Parent's Night Monday to the visitors from Tower by the score of 39-21.  The loss dropped the Ram's record to 10 & 3 for the season.  Our ladies missed numerous open shots and could not catch up after falling behind in the second quarter.  Cherish Terrell led the Rams with 2 3 pointers for 6 points while Lainey Abbott played another strong all around game with 4 points, 3 boards and 9 steals.  Melissa Avi 4 points & 6 steals and Anna Edwards 4 points also contributed in the loss.  Keep working hard ladies!!  #wearelamphere

Win: 42 - 12
The JV Lady Rams improved their record to 10 & 2 with a 42-12 win @ South Lake on Tuesday night.  Tabia Promee led the ladies with 11 points & 3 steals, while Mackenzie Lyons added a season high 8 points.  Melissa Avi chipped in with 6 points & 4 steals and Lainey Abbott had 6 points, 6 rebounds & 7 steals.  Jaz Singleton (10 boards), Keneisha Thomas (7 boards & 4 blocks) and Taylor Stokes ( 6 boards) controlled the glass in the Rams victory.  9 out of 11 ladies scored in the game.  The Rams play next @ home on Wednesday for Parents Night. The Lady Rams JV basketball team improved their record to 9 & 2 with a win against Clawson @ home on Friday night by the score of 36-26.  The ladies opened up a big lead and coasted to the victory with 8 out of 9 ladies contributing in the scoring column.  Freshman Melissa Avi led the Rams with 9 points & 5 steals while Sophomore Tabia Promee chipped in with 7 points & 5 steals.  Keneisha Thomas contributed 4 points, 8 boards & 7 steals, Lainey Abbott had 2 points to go with 4 boards, 2 blocks and 9 steals while Jaz Singleton added 8 boards and 7 steals.  The ladies travel to South Lake on Tuesday for their next game.  Good job ladies!!  #wearelamphere

The Lady Rams JV Basketball Team improved their record to 8 & 2 with a 21-15 win @ Roseville on Thursday.  The ladies were led by Keneisha Thomas with 6 points, 10 rebounds, 5 steals and 3 blocks.  Melissa Avi chipped in with 5 points while Anna Edwards added 4 points.  Lainey Abbott had a super all around game with 7 boards, 9 steals and 3 blocks, while Taylor Stokes also had 4 points, 9 steals, 3 boards & 2 blocks.  Good effort ladies and keep working hard.  #wearelamphere

The Lady Rams JV basketball team fell behind early Tuesday night @ Warren Mott and could not catch up as they lost their second game in 9 tries by the score of 34-20.  The ladies played a strong 2nd half, but the damage was already done and the comeback came up short.  Freshman Lainey Abbott led the Rams with 6 points, 3 blocks & 11 steals while Melissa Avi chipped in with 5 points, 4 boards & 4 steals.  Freshman forward Keneisha Thomas was a beast on the boards with 11 boards, 3 blocks and 3 steals along with some excellent hustle and effort.  The ladies play next @ Roseville on Thursday.  Good luck and keep working hard!!  #wearelamphere

The Lady Rams JV basketball team improved their record to 7 & 1 with a win Friday night over the visitors from South Lake.  The ladies were led by Freshman Lainey Abbott with 8 points, 8 boards & 11 steals while Tabia Promee added 5 points, 4 boards & 4 steals.  Freshman Mackenzie Lyons chipped in with 4 points also.  With the 3 freshman forwards controlling the boards Keneisha Thomas (9 boards), Taylor Stokes (8 boards) & Anna Edwards (7 boards) the ladies jumped out to a big lead and coasted to the win.  8 out of 10 players contributed on the scoreboard.  The ladies travel to Warren Mott on Tuesday for their next game.  Keep working hard ladies.  #wearelamphere

The Lady Rams JV Basketball team improved their record to 6 & 1 with a win @ Clawson on Tuesday night by the score of 28-22.  The Lady Rams were led by Melissa Avi with 11 points and 8 steals, while Lainey Edwards contributed 6 points &  8 steals.  The Rams were led in rebounding by Keneisha Thomas with 14 boards, 6 steals and 4 blocks,  while Taylor Stokes had 6 boards, 6 blocks & 6 steals.  Anna Edwards contributed 6 points and 5 rebounds.  The ladies play on Friday at home against South Lake at 5:30.  Great game ladies!!  #wearelamphere

The JV Lady Rams improved their record to 5-1 by winning at Tower by the score of 16-14 tonight.  The Rams defensive effort was strong and led them to the road win.  Lainey Abbott (6 points & 5 steals) and Jaz Singleton  (4 points, 6 boards & 12 steals) led the Lady Rams.  Freshman Keneisha Thomas continued her assault on the glass with 7 rebounds and Taylor Stokes added a team high 8 rebounds and 4 steals.  The Rams travel to Clawson on Tuesday for their next game.  Keep working hard ladies!!  #WEARELAMPHERE

Win: 25 - 17
Happy New Year to all and welcome back to Lamphere JV Ladies Basketball.  The Lady Rams opened the new year with a 25-17 win @ home against an aggressive Roseville team.  The Rams took control in the 1st half and jumped on the Wildcats for a 16-4 halftime lead.  After the ladies outscored the Roseville team in the 3rd quarter and opened up a 15 point lead, they never looked back and coasted to the win.  Melissa Avi led the Rams with 11 points, 5 boards and 4 steals.  Keneisha Thomas was a beast on the boards with a season high 16 boards and 4 points, while Taylor Stokes chipped in with 9 boards & Jaz Singleton had 7 boards.  The ladies improved their record to 4 & 1 and play at Tower on Thursday @ 5:30.  Way to go ladies!!!  #WEARELAMPHERE

Lose: 29 - 31
The Lady Rams JV basketball team led throughout the contest last night, but just couldn't finish at the end and lost a thriller in overtime to the visiting Mott Marauders by the score of 31-29.  With the Rams clinging to a 2 point lead with just seconds left, Mott scored to tie the game and send it into overtime.  The Rams had a chance to tie or win at the end, but the Marauders hung on and outscored our ladies 3-1 in the overtime period to win the game.  Keneisha Thomas led the Lady Rams with 12 points, 8 rebounds and 5 steals.  Lainey Abbott chipped in with 6 points, 4 boards and 7 steals while Melissa Avi also had 7 steals.  Mott was led by Lauren Doss & Haille Morgan with 11 apiece.  The loss drops the Rams to 3 & 1 on the year.  Their next game will be on January 8th @ home when they welcome in Roseville for a 5:30 tip time.  We also would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year!!!  Go Rams.   #wearelamphere      
Girls Junior Varsity Basketball vs. Clintondale High School

Win: 38 - 14
The Lady Rams JV basketball team traveled to Clintondale on Tuesday and upped their record to 3 & 0 by beating the Dragons by the score of 38-14.  The ladies turned a lackluster 1st half into an outstanding second half and outscored the Dragons 21-9 to coast to the win.  Freshman Lainey Abbott played her best game of the young season by scoring 12 points adding 9 steals, 3 boards and 3 blocks.  Freshman Melissa Avi chipped in with 9 points while Taylor Stokes (7 steals, 4 points) & Jessica Shaffer (5 steals) helped out on the defensive end.  Some excellent interior passing by Alex South, Mackenzie Lyons, Anna Edwards & Jaz Singleton were instrumental in the victory.  The ladies next game is on Thursday @ home against Warren Mott.  Great job ladies and keep working hard!!

Win: 51 - 7
The Lady Rams JV team used a strong 1st half on Tuesday to beat the visitors from Centerline by the score of 51-7.  The ladies were led by freshmen guards Melissa Avi with 13 points, 7 boards and 4 steals & Lainey Abbott with 11 points, 11 boards and 9 steals.  Freshmen forwards Keneisha Thomas ( 9 points & 9 boards) and Anna Edwards (6 points & 7 boards) helped in the rout.  10 of 11 ladies scored in the game for the Rams.  The win upped their record to 2 & 0 on the young season and will play next Tuesday 12/18 at Clintondale.  Great game ladies and keep working hard!!

Win: 30 - 19
The JV Lady Rams outscored Cranbrook in every quarter and used a strong 3rd quarter to pull away for a 30-19 victory in their 1st game.  The Lady Rams were led by freshman forward Keneisha Thomas (8 points, 9 rebounds and 4 steals) and freshmen gaurds Lainey Abbott (7 points & 6 steals) & Melissa Avi (4 points and 6 steals).  Junior captain Jaz Singleton added 4 points, 9 boards & 8 steals also.  The Lady Rams play Tuesday December 11th at home against Centerline @ 5:30.  Great game ladies and keep working hard!!
