Boys Varsity Cross Country - Autumn Classic

Autumn Classic at Stony Creek Metropark-Baypoint Beach on Saturday, September 18th. Another picture-perfect day for cross country! Meet was separated by two races loosely based on season marks, etc. In the first race, Dillan Johns, Anthony Goatley, and Pete Lutz represented the Rams. They respectively ran 20:04.5, 20:44.7, and 20:52.5, which earned them 58th, 83rd, and 89th. In the second race, Georgio Aramouni and Leon Hanson ran 23:33 and 27:05, respectively. They finished 34th and 85th. Once both races were combined for team scores and the awarding of medals to the top 100, Lamphere walked away with 19th place out of 21 teams, 3 medalists, and 4 PRs, three lifetime PRs and one season PR. Our medalists were Johns, Goatley, and Lutz in 59th, 85th, and 92nd. Our lifetime PRs were from Goatley with 0.5 seconds, Lutz with 6.3 seconds, and Aramouni with 1 minute and 6 seconds, Hanson dropped his season PR by 3 minutes and 1.1 seconds.

MAC Blue Jamboree #1 at Freedom Hill on Tuesday, September 14th. Quick turnaround from Saturday's meet and an earlier start time than anticipated, but we persevered. Overcast weather with some heavy showers to start the meet. Dillan Johns ran 20:12.6, earning him 10th place. Anthony Goatley ran 21:24.2, finishing in 28th place; Pete Lutz was not far behind him, running a time of 21:32.1 and finishing 30th. Georgio Aramouni ran 28:11.3, finishing 67th. And rounding out our finishers was Leon Hanson with a time of 30:06.1, which earned him 73rd place. It was a tough day at the office for all, but consistency and determination were on display by your Rams. Overall, Lamphere finished 6th out of 9 teams; from a dual meet scoring perspective, our record from this meet was 2-6.

Algonac Muskrat Classic at Algonac High School on Saturday, September 11th. It was perfect cross country weather for some PRs and impressive performances. Dillan Johns ran 19:28.4 to pace the Rams, finishing 38th in the Division 2-3-4 race which earned him a medal; Top 40 Finishers were awarded medals. Anthony Goatley ran another PR. This time, he ran 20:45.2, finishing 60th. Freshman Pete Lutz debuted for the Rams with a time of 20:58.8, finishing 64th. Georgio Aramouni outpaced his performance from the Watermelon Invite by running 24:39, which earned him 92nd place.

Clawson Watermelon Invite at Clawson City Park on Tuesday, August 24th. It was a hot day on the course for an early evening race. In the 5k, Anthony Goatley ran a lifetime PR of 22:48.2. His previous best was set last year at the Oakland County Championships with a time of 38:25.3. In the 2 Mile, we had a couple of debuts for the Rams. Junior Dillan Johns ran 13:41.9 and Freshman Georgio Aramouni ran 20:11.9. Leon Hanson finished in between Johns and Aramouni with a time of 18:48.5.
